What happens when the people of Earth have used up all of the planets natural resources and are now forced to explore the stars for alternate sources of energy? This was the question I proposed when first setting out to create this world that would later eventually become Epsilon Rising.

Basically I was given about two weeks to create a short film intro as part of my film and multimedia studies, so I decided that I was going to write and produce one of my own original story ideas. Rather then trying to remake or source ideas from any existing material. The film was shot in one day however production ran into numerous problems due to the short space of time we had to complete the project, this film remains a testament to all our hard work and shows the potential of what the story could be.

The Film Synopsis

The year is 2089 and Earth’s forces have invaded and begun strip mining an unsuspecting M class planet code-named Epsilon, a quiet and seemingly desolate place where its sole inhabitants are a scattered race of simple nomadic type people.

These are the events surrounding Alpha Team’s last recorded mission, who had been previously stationed on Epsilon to oversee the Earth’s continued mining operations. While scouting the planet in an effort to discover the whereabouts of a massive energy signature.

Which has to date, continued to remain undetectable.
