Divinity – The Daughter Of Azrulyan is an exciting new fantasy film idea written by Mark McClinton, the project is currently in it’s production infancy, to date no casting has yet to take place and a full feature script is still in development. However you can be the first to get a glimpse of our new concept promo (pictured above) as well a brief look into the synopsis idea and back story of the film.

Concept behind the story

This whole idea first came about because i wanted to create my first full length feature, telling the kind of story that I had always liked to go and see as a kid. A real classic good versus evil adventure, where the good guys would eventually be triumphant while overcoming great adversities and personal tragedy. This was the kind of story telling that always left you feeling exhilarated or inspired, for me this is exactly the kind of movie I had always wanted to make and thus was the concept behind idea which lead to the Divinity Project. I thought that I would start by introducing a young innocent character whose world had been enslaved by a madman, who is intent on looking for something which he believes will lead to the ultimate source of power. So that he may rule the entire universe without and fear of opposition.

This being the premise for the film, I then set about crafting and developing the characters for my story, I started with the main character first as she would be the most important. She also being a most special character who turns out to have a Divine gift, a power which is unknown to both herself and those around her. Of course this madman character would stop and nothing to gain control of this power, which he believes to be contained within the sword of Azrulyan. A god who once walked among mere mortals, both protector and ruler in the world of Ghanomede. Little does this villain of countless worlds know that the sword can only be wielded by a descendant of the gods. Or more precisely as both he and the people he has enslaved would then later find out, by the daughter of Azrulyan.

The Story Thus Far

For centuries, the story of Azrulyan and his great power has been told by the people of Ghanemede, as well as the prophecy about the coming of the one who would save our world from the invaders. However this persons arrival is not due for another 1200 years and the time for their need is now. As the butcher and his armies have arrived searching for the source of this power, only the one who will arrive to save them, will come before her time and at a great personal cost.

Well this is my concept for the film, when I wrote this I set out to make a story of epic scale so that I would have plenty of material to work with. So as I mentioned earlier I’m still in the process of developing the script, however as production develops further I will continue to bring you updates on the project.
